Training Provided

The Wildlife and their products Trafficking Control Directorate of the Authority has provided training to 644 federal supervising personnel in various parts of the country.
The training is aimed at elevating the capacity of concerned personnel thereby strengthen the efforts being made to control and stop the illegal trans-boundary wildlife trade and trafficking.
The trainees were raised from the branch offices and work units of the Ethiopian Revenue and Customs Authority, the Federal Police Commission and the Defense Force that are based in Oromia, Harari, Somale and Afar states as well as Diredawa Administration.
According to Wildlife International Conventions Senior Officer of the directorate, Ato Daniel Assefa, Trainees were given lessons on the prevention of illegal deeds against wildlife and identifying wildlife and their products through lecture, discussion and experience sharing methods.
It was noted that the training was given between February 6 and April 6, 2015 and that 51 of the trainee are women.
