THE MINISTRY HAS APPROVED SEVEN DRAFT DIRECTIVES SUBMITTED BY THE AUTHORITY



The
Ethiopian Wildlife Conservation Authority has called up on the public
and all concerned bodies to stand by the side of the Authority in the
efforts being made to conserve the wildlife and utilize them
effectively.

The
Authority made the call recently following the endorsement of seven
directives regarding the utilization of wildlife and their products.

The
directives were approved by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism with
the intention to further intensify the work of conservation of wildlife
and their habitat, and promote the tourism sector of the country.

The
seven directives approved by the Ministry are: Wildlife Hunting
Utilization Directive, Directive for the Provision of License for
Research Works on Wildlife and Their Habitat, Wildlife Taxidermy
Directive, Wildlife Filming Directive, Wildlife Hunting and Live Trade
Directive, Directive for Enumerating and Quota Setting of the Wildlife
Allowed to be Hunted, and Directive for Licensing Service Delivering
Enterprises in the Wildlife Protected Areas.

Director
of the legal Affairs Directorate of the Authority, Ato Mitiku
G/Michael called up on the public and all concerned bodies to respect
the provisions decreed in the directives and work co-operatively with
the Authority so as to intensify the work of conservation of wildlife as
well as transform and maximize the
benefit secured from the sector.
